2024 AHF Infamous Annual Dinner
Thank you so much to everyone who made the 2024 AHF Annual Dinner a success!
With incredible insights from our speakers, we delved deep into the 100-year-old mystery that still captivates so many of us to this day.
Wade Davis explained how WW1 shaped people like George Mallory and Andrew (Sandy) Irvine into extraordinarily courageous explorers and influenced their approach to risk and death on the 1924 British expedition.
Mark Synnott inspired us with his thoughts on the spirit of adventure and described his journey from avoiding Mount Everest to ultimately joining the 2019 expedition to search for Sandy Irvine.
Conrad Anker (who found Mallory’s remains in 1999) and Jon Krakauer helped set the mood for both of the other speakers and helped pull the event together.
We were also grateful to have three generations of George Mallory’s family in attendance, along with two members of the recent Everest expedition that found Sandy Irvine’s boot.
The evening's proceeds will have a lasting impact on our work, particularly in helping rebuild Thame and easing the suffering of those who lost so much. Thank you again, on behalf of all of us at AHF.
Below is a selection of photos from the evening by the incredible Gordon Wiltsie. If you are looking for a specific photo you noticed him taking at the event, please reach out to us at [email protected].
